HPA detail panel infinite loading with KEDA external metrics

Environment

  • Lens version: 2026.1.161237~latest (also tested 2026.1.140649~latest)
  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
  • Kubernetes: 1.32 and 1.34 (EKS)
  • KEDA: 2.16.1

Problem

Clicking on any HPA created by KEDA opens the detail panel but shows an infinite loading spinner. The panel never loads the HPA details.

Timeline

This started approximately a couple of weeks ago. It was working fine before. Possibly started after some recent update.

What works correctly

  • ScaledObjects detail panel loads fine
  • kubectl describe hpa <name> works perfectly
  • Freelens v1.8.0 loads HPA details correctly (same clusters)

Observations

  • No errors appear in DevTools console when clicking on HPA
  • The HPAs use external metrics from KEDA
  • KEDA’s external metrics API requires a labelSelector to work:
    • Without labelSelector: returns error “scaledObject name is not specified”
    • With labelSelector: works correctly

Expected behavior

HPA detail panel should load and display HPA information, same as Freelens does.

I am also facing this issue after updating version.

Same issue; the latest version of the Lens has this problem. AWS EKS, 1.34

Thanks for the detailed reports — and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

We’re aware of the issue and it’s already been addressed on our side. The fix will be included in the next release, and HPA details should load normally again.
