Lens 2025.9.151055-latest - Release

The new Stable release of Lens Desktop is here — featuring improvements to Lens Prism and AWS EKS integration. This release also includes UX enhancements driven by community feedback and a range of bug fixes for improved stability.

To ensure a smooth transition and minimize disruption we’ll start by rolling out the update to a small portion of our users, then incrementally increasing this number until all users have access to the update. If you have not received the update and wish to try it out, you can download this version manually at our website .

Enhancements

  • AWS EKS profile using Assume Role: You can now add a new AWS profile that is using the Assume Role functionality of AWS.
  • AWS EKS profile using Access Key Sign-in: You can now add a new AWS profile by specifying the access key ID and the secret access key.
  • OCI-based Helm registries: Lens now supports OCI-based Helm registries.
  • Shortcut for opening the Terminal: Terminal can now be opened by a shortcut. The shortcuts are documented here.
  • Tool call visualization in Lens Prism: Tool calls made by Lens Prism are now visualized in the UI.

Hello,

I’ve been using the Lens Personal for a while now. In the previous version, there was a hotbar option, but it’s no longer available in the latest version, 2025.9.151055-latest.

I understand that the hotbar is a premium feature, but I’m curious why it was available in the previous version and not in the current one.

Hello @naveen1583,

We want to be transparent about a recent change in Lens.

When we released the new UI in October 2024, we initially removed the Hotbar feature. Based on user feedback, we brought it back, but made it available only to:

  • Users on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Enterprise)
  • Long-time Lens users who created their Lens ID before October 2024 (as a thank-you for their support)

Recently, we discovered a bug in our feature gating: Hotbar had unintentionally been available to all users, regardless of plan. This bug has now been fixed.

As a result, some users who were not meant to have Hotbar access no longer do. We understand this may be frustrating if you had come to rely on it, but we want to be fully open: this was a mistake on our side, and access is now aligned with what was originally intended.

We know many of you enjoyed Hotbar during this time, and your feedback has reinforced its value — which is why it remains an important part of our premium plans.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to shape Lens with your feedback.
