I have few Fedora 42 machines where I can’t install either Slack or Lens due to conflict between them so I can only have one of the whichever is installed first which is mega bad :cat:

Hello @decrofn,

We also have the GitHub issue for it: Lens rpm on Fedora tries to install files that conflict with slack · Issue #8181 · lensapp/lens · GitHub

You can check it too.

Hello @decrofn,

Thanks for reporting this! We really appreciate.
We’re aware of this conflict between Slack and Lens on Fedora — it’s caused by overlapping build ID files included in both RPM packages. Our team is looking into a proper fix on our side to prevent these file collisions in future builds.

In the meantime, your workaround is a good temporary solution: reinstalling Slack while excluding the conflicting build ID files allows both applications to coexist. However, this should only be used as a short-term fix until we release an updated package that resolves the issue permanently.
