Toggle switch next to the filters

Hey,
Would it be possible to have a toggle switch to quickly enable or disable the filter without having to clear and retype it?

Thank you for the suggestion! A toggle switch to quickly enable or disable the filter is an interesting idea, and I can see how it would improve efficiency.

Would an alternative solution, such as a “filter history”, address your needs even better? For instance, after clearing the filter (by clicking “X”), focusing on the search filter could display a dropdown with your past searches, allowing you to reapply previous filters quickly without retyping.

No, I don’t think that’s a good idea. We use Lens as a productivity tool, so it needs to be fast with as few clicks as possible.

I think both approaches have their own pros and cons. One way currently (with minimal clicks / need to retype) is to cut the search filter text to clipboard and then paste it to search again when needed.

That’s what I do for now—cut and paste—but it’s really not practical.
Also, my filter patterns differ depending on whether I’m in the Deployments or Pods tab, for example. Ideally, each object type should retain its own filter that can be enabled or disabled.

Hi @docker,
Huge thanks for all the thoughtful suggestions you’ve shared — not just in this thread, but across multiple discussions. Your feedback has been incredibly valuable and shows a deep understanding of both the product and the user perspective. :raised_hands:

We’ve already created a user story based on your input and will do our best to include it in one of the upcoming sprints. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for helping us make Lens better.
