I updated my Mac Pro to 26.1 a few days ago and now I am unable to open Lens. It just opens the loading box and sits and sits.
I can only assume this is related to the OS upgrade but I’m not 100% sure. Just posting to see if others have experienced this at all.
Thank you!
Hi @karl.kofmehl,
sorry you’re running into this after the upgrade, and thanks for reporting it.
We’ve identified an issue that can prevent Lens from starting in some cases after updating the OS. A fix is already prepared and will be included in the next Lens Desktop release.
In the meantime, this workaround should unblock you:
- Close Lens.app if it’s open.
- Open Terminal.app and run:
mv "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Lens/extension-store/lenscloud-lens-extension/auth-token-store.json" \
"$HOME/Library/Application Support/Lens/extension-store/lenscloud-lens-extension/auth-token-store.json_backup"
- Open Lens again – you should be able to re-activate/sign in and continue using Lens.
This only resets a cached authentication token; your clusters and other settings are not removed.
If this doesn’t solve it, please let us know so we can investigate further.

Quick update: we’ve just rolled out a new Lens Desktop release that includes a fix for this startup issue.
Please update to the latest version and try again. If Lens still gets stuck on the loading screen after updating, let us know and we’ll dig deeper.
