Hi guys - I migrated to new laptop (32 threads on processor, 128 G of RAM) - monster one. And I downloaded newest Lens and it is very clunky and slow… it uses a lot of resources but is unresponsive. Most of the time I am waiting for something to load. And as I have big processor the app which is using over 5% of it is really extremly busy.
I have the same problems on my MacBook (MBP M2 2023 16GB, Ventura 13.6.6) Unfortunately, Lens is that rare case when every time I update to a new release I wait to see if it gets worse - and usually it does. This applies to both performance and resource consumption, as well as the interface and UI. After many trials and errors, I rolled back to a release from a year ago (2023.9.191233 - this installation file fortunately remained in my downloads directory) - and got the feeling of a really new release and a step forward compared to the latest current release. I hope that you guys will do something about this, because your product and its idea are really great.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
Could you please double-check if you have installed the correct version of Lens for your Mac chipset (Apple Intel or Apple Silicon)? Using the version not optimized for your chipset might significantly impact performance. In your case your MacBook is based on a Apple Silicon chipset.
If you discover that the wrong version is installed, we recommend downloading the correct one from our official website.
Please let us know if this helps or if the issue persists, and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
