Failed to start Lens: black screen

I installed the last version of lens on ubuntu 25.10. Afer the startup screen, I get a black window.

In the terminal I can the error many times:

Could you share your Lens logs so we can investigate further? They should be here:

~/.config/Lens/logs/

Please send us the latest folder (named by date/time) with the lens-main.log file inside. The logs are written even if you only see the black screen, so they should be there.

Also, two quick questions:

When you see the black screen — did you wait a while, or did you close Lens after a few seconds?
Did a browser window open at any point?

This is also happening for me on Windows 11, Mac OS and Fedora 43. When it does load it’s extremely slow, this is to the point I may have to start using something else.

We are already looking into this and are working on providing a fix as quickly as possible. In the meantime, could you try the following workaround to get you unblocked?

Quit Lens completely
Delete the persisted state folder at this path: ~/.config/Lens/persisted-state/
Delete the local storage file: ~/.config/Lens/lens-local-storage/app.json
Restart Lens

Your cluster configs and preferences should be unaffected. Let us know if that helps!

Hi @christopher.lee, thanks for confirming – sorry for the trouble. Could you try the workaround above? The Lens config folder is ~/.config/Lens/ on Linux, ~/Library/Application Support/Lens/ on macOS, or %APPDATA%/Lens/ on Windows. Delete the persisted-state/ folder and lens-local-storage/app.json, then restart.
