i’m frequently getting lost and mix cluster’s resources with other clusters. Scrolling to find the right cluster then having to look through the categories of that cluster to find the right resources is too much for me to handle. Also, I reaaaally liked the old ui’s rightmost sidebar list of all clusters (that was kinda like discord’s server bar). An option to bring that back would be appreciated.
The sidebar tree’s feature to emulate directories and dynamically change the root level (from home to local clusters to a specific cluster to a resource category kind) adds a huge mental complexity.
The namespace selector should be configurable so that you can toggle it between persisting its state separately per resource kind, or synchronized for all resources
I keep closing the terminal tab, but when i switch resources it keeps showing up. i don’t wanna use it. let me hide it completely. I like it clean
The contrast is too dull. Everything looks too flat, and it makes it harder to focus on specific parts of the application
The create resource button is out there. too distracting. And i’ll never use it because i like controlling everything from my gitops repos.
Overall, dunno. The new UI definitely doesn’t work for me and i’d like an option to go back as I see it as a step backwards. I can see it working for a holistic type of thinker that wants all of the information to be displayed at all times, but I’m of the other type and I always favor simpler UIs. Like the old one.
This new UI should take first place in the museum of the worst interfaces. And the person who approved it should receive a Golden Raspberry in the field of UI!
Black on black, the convenience of switching clusters is gone, everything is small.
Did Lens developers tried to test their software while operating 100+ clusters? Cluster navigation was 10x better in the old UI!
And then, removing the sidebar with the cluster’s bookmarks… Seriously, why? Which PO has taken this decision? How should I access the most frequent clusters from the UI?
It’s one of the ugliest software update I’ve seen in my career. My team thinks about cancelling the Lens Prod subscription and moving to OpenLens.
The link there is to the older UI version of Lens. Did you install it and then autoupdate Lens to the latest version? Please try installing it again from a clean state to avoid autoupdate.
I have been a long-time user of Lens, and the latest UI is disastrous from an ergonomics perspective.
There is an incredible latency when switching between tabs (I am using the Windows release 2024.11.261604-latest).
All my clusters are now displayed in an endless scrolling list, whereas previously, I had large icons for my favorites.
Etc.
It is impossible for me to continue using this version as it is currently unusable.
Could you please provide me with the link to the latest Windows version that still uses the previous UI?
Hello there, you can find the link to the previous version in here. We are going to introduce very soon some mechanisms to simplify the “endless scrolling list” and bring back the favorites clusters .
I have to agree with all the previous comments. The new UI is unusable and the previous version with a hot bar separating concerns clean an nicely was much better with respect to navigation. Please bring back the old UI or, at least, let users decided what UI layout to choose from. Maybe there are users who like the new UI. Anyway I am clearly missing some configuration options.
Hello everyone, my Lens was also automatically updated to the latest version. The experience has been truly disappointing. I was used to adding clusters using the kubeconfig files and managing them on the hotbar with icons and memorable abbreviations. After being automatically updated to the latest version, it’s been very difficult to manage, and the UI feels cluttered. I hope the developers will bring back the hotbar feature with larger icons

Thank you for sharing your feedback @fatsolko ! Lens uses a standard tooltip delay of approximately 2 seconds, similar to many other widely-used software applications. However, if there are specific areas in Lens where the tooltip delay feels significantly longer, we’d love to hear about them so we can investigate further.
We appreciate your input and look forward to your response!
in the old version, when I hover over the green square of the container, the tooltip appears quickly, it feels like up to 0.5s and this is very good. In the current version this is unbearably long
